West Virginia University offers two kinds of WiFi network access (encrypted and unencrypted) at various locations on campus. Access to the networks is free of charge for faculty, staff, and students.
WVU.Encrypted is a WPA-based secure network for general use by WVU staff and students. WVU.MountainAir is an unsecure network using a hotel-style logon, for authorized guests and for devices which cannot connect to WVU.Encrypted.
Secure.wvu was a precursor to the new WVU.Encrypted network, using Dynamic WEP rather than WPA.
No new secure.wvu profiles should be configured, so use WVU.Encrypted instead.
The secure.wvu network has been phased out as of Dec. 31, 2007. User need to convert from secure.wvu to WVU.Encrypted.
